The U.S. and British Virgin Islands are located in the Windward Islands approximately 100 miles east of Puerto Rico. Hurricane season is June- November when the weather is hotter and the winds are milder. 

 

Most airlines fly into San Juan Puerto Rico (SJU) or St. Thomas (STT), U.S.V.I. There is an extensive ferry service offering transportation between the islands.

 

 

British Virgin Islands

Best Times: December - May.

During the sailing seaon, December-May, Illusion II can be found at anchor usually in North Sound in Virgin Gorda, or any of the other anchorages in the B.V.I. 

 

The temperature is usually 85 in the day and 74 at night. Water tempertature is around 79 in the winter months. The tradewinds blow strongest in the winter months usually 15-25 knots giving us a wonderful sailing and windsurfing breeze. The waters are protected by the ring of islands so there is not much ocean swell and most days sails are from 2-4 hours long.
